Calcium Chloride Testing

Calcium chloride testing measures the emission of moisture vapour from a concrete slab. The test tells you if the slab will accept sealants, adhesives and resilient flooring. Calcium chloride test results determine if a slab is ready for flooring installation and what type of flooring is best suited to a slab.

During calcium chloride testing, 20-inch by 20-inch squares are cleaned, prepared and isolated with testing equipment. Three test squares are required for the first 1,000 square feet of the concrete slab. One additional test square is necessary for each additional 1,000 square feet of the slab.

The test squares must be isolated and unadulterated for 60 to 72 hours. Test results are collected by trained field technicians and analyzed off-site. Contact CCMT to learn more about calcium chloride testing.
